Drake Well Marathon

Where does the race start? 

The race starts and ends near the Drake Well Museum.  There is ample parking at the museum, and if necessary, overflow traffic wll be directed just a short walk down the road near Jersey Bridge.

Is the marathon a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon?

Yes, it is a Boston Qualifier.  The USATF Certification # is... PA15002MW. 

 

Is there a finisher's medal? 

YES!  There is a nice finisher's medal for both marathon and half marathon finishers. 

 

Is the shirt a technical shirt?  Is it gender-specific or unisex?

We are proud to provide gender-specific technical pullovers for the Full Marathon and short-sleeve shirts for the Half Marathon!  Be sure to register by July 20th to be guaranteed a shirt.

What's the portapotty/restroom situation? 

There will be portapotties at the start/finish and at various locations throughout the course.  For the half-marathon, there will be portapotties at mile 4.5 and 7.  For the marathon, portapotties will be at miles 4.5, 7, 11, 15, and 22.

How often are the water stations?  What's included at the water stations?

Water stations will be approximately every two miles.  Each station will have water, and every other station will have both water and Gatorade. Gels will be available at mile 7 for the half-marathon, and at miles 7, 11, 16, and 22 for the marathon.  

 

Do the winners receive prizes? 

Yes!  First overall male and female for both races will receive a cash prize and top 3 overall in both races will receive a handmade clay "Oil Barrel" mug!    

 

When/where is packet pickup?

Packet pickup will take place on Saturday, August 17 (the day before the race) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Drake Well Museum.  Packet pickup will also be available the day of the race from 5:30 AM to 6:30 AM.  Be sure to arrive in time, as the race will be starting at 7:00 AM sharp!
